Renewable energy is cheaper has been since 2019 if we had more of it our bills would be lower by a LOT

the massive failure is relying on Gas Norway are 93% renewable and have 2% inflation

we've collected next to no tax from the brent fields for years and have put around 100 billion in various budgets in tax breaks for the next 5 years Meanwhile the cost of renewable energy has tumbled to new lows and where getting scalped by the energy companies for 170 billion in excess profits

@anthonywilson8998 No I don't have a heat pump the system is configured to be heat pump ready and I double insulated when we had the extension work done at the same time as putting in the ground floor underfloor. Heat loss is a couple of degrees every 5/6 hours if its cold outside its not been on at all for months though if its not cold overnight the house stays fairly constant it also doesn't heat up that much either when it is scorching outside. Underfloor was similar cost to a radiator system when we took account of the pre routed floorboards and the time saving it gave on installation (plumber time). Secondary insulation is a couple of different products from YBS floorquilt and superquilt. Payback on the solar thermal is 8-10 years, the solar panels are inserts the roof needed doing so its fitting costs are moot as the scaffolding was there anyway electrical work was bundled in the 2nd fit I'd expect it to be higher than the solar thermal On a cost basis the Solar was done as a future proof I had the money so it was added.

which isn't what you have here there just shilling for the Oil and gas companies Over the energy crisis which is caused by a reliance on Gas we will shell out 170 billion in excess profits to these companies Meanwhile renewable energy is still at 2019 prices which is the last time Gas was at a comparable cost

@saraandivanevans6881 there life is estimated at 25 years minimum and you buy a machine to recycle them there just fibreglass you need a big enough crusher. There also looking at moving to bamboo composite for blades and Perovskite cell technology for solar as well as Sodium - Ion batteries in the next few years Did you know the UK government is paying the Oil companies 75 billion to clean up old infrastructure in the North Sea?
2
why don't you want cheaper electric?

there are alternatives we just choose not to use them

Your assuming we don't take any energy saving measures I've just fitted solar thermal it saves around 17% of my energy bill I've also just fitted underfloor heating that saves around 40% on my heating (I double insulated the floor which is why its so big)

@redacted629 electric car fires are a fraction of a percentage on ICE ones

why there giving them 100's billions in tax breaks to do it it then it goes on the world commodity markets we get fk all benefit the UK energy sector is fleecing us for 170 billion over the current crisis because where tied to Gas prices for generation If we invest in renewables its cheaper and stays in the UK under the control of the UK
1
what like the 3.5 million the tories get from the fossil lobby or the 100 billion in tax breaks that's wrapped around this

you do know renewables are cheaper don't you and by a considerable margin to gas generated electric

@roygreenwood79 Thank the Conservatives for the mark up spot price is tied to gas
