Comments by "Greg Greg" (@SlowhandGreg) on "Northern Ireland Brexit protocol at risk of being ripped up" video.
The protocol is already in action just kind of in a soft way, the businesses in NI have been realigning their supply chain with the South away from the UK because Brexit. Why the Cons and the DUP are having a meltdown is the plan was to use NI as leverage, the assumption by the Brexiteers was they could someone either force the South to leave the EU or break the EU market and still keep frictionless trade. What has happened is the EU supply chain has rerouted through Cherburg -Roslare and has abandoned GB as a land bridge with all the lost trade that entails for GB. It leaves the Brexiteers with FA leverage and a morphing situation of Irish unification in all but name.

@ruairi110 The EU don't need political union the Brexiteers have handed Ireland economic union, it doesn't matter what the Unionists want the major supply chains are already changed and trade NI to GB is through the floor. The UK government can't abandon the protocol all they can now do is gaslight the Unionists over it because it's too late, the only time they could get away with this was a no deal that fleeting window is a long way in the past.

@ruairi110 I feel genuinely sorry for you but the Cons are mix of liars and the delusional that believe the lies. The UK govt have no leverage and the unionists stamping thier feet and threatening trouble will just result in more hot air from the likes of Frost. Instead of getting angry with the protocol and EU blame the Cons and the DUP who both sold you a crock sht
