Everyone else subsidies it because it benefits the economy overall, public transport reduces road traffic which in turn reduces maintenance and infrastructure costs and improves productivity

You subsidies rail so it takes goods and people off the roads, less traffic on the roads means greater productivity for the economy less money spent on large road infrastructure and repairs better for the environment with less pollution in city's

@shadrana1 it's not a subsidy it's a tax on fossil and it's used to improve insulation on pensioners homes plus its less than the giveaway tax cut to bankers in the last budget. Your only bitching about because fossil lobby Farage has poked your cage, every day the fossil lobby can slow down renewables is millions more trousered at everyone expense
