Sigh it reduces your energy bills I have thermal solar with current gas prices capital cost is paid for in 6 years and after that 75% of my hot water is FREE i've uprated the insulation in my home put in a new boiler and switched to underfloor heating it will stop coming on in April and not switch back on again till October, energy usage is 20% of previous. There are loads of net zero examples

Fossil companies don't want a free market, the get 10's of billions in subsidies from the UK alone

What's wrong with saving money?

All private car sales are down + used car prices, its called a cost of living crisis

What's wrong with cheaper energy
1
It saves money and decoupled your economy from world market commodity shock While we had 11% inflation Norway had 3% there 92% renewable

@routmaster38 I've never bought a new car, in a couple of years your energy supplier will be giving you free off peak electricity if you sign up to V2G The tech saves them a fortune

@noelward8047 Net zero because it depends on some intermittent sources requires energy storage and a flattening of the demand curve. We now have the engineering and tech skills to do that. Once your not paying for very expensive peak production the wholesale price plummets
1
@noelward8047 looking at a high demand period last year average price was £200 kwh but the peak price was £6000. Its on the extremes but over £1000 in winter regullaly happens. Forward guaranteed contract price for Dogger bank offshore is £42. So storage and using smart tech has a huge impact on price.

Net zero means cheaper energy prices and decoupling from world market commodity shock Another war in the middle east and you'll be bleating about petrol at 4£ a litre

@BarneyRubble-qr7px I'm retired on a low income. Spent a load of time reading up on energy, insulation and heating. Did 90% of the refurbishment work myself including taking up all the ground floor and double insulating it. I'd suggest you widen your reading

@samsaravii9944 How does insulating your home to A+ standard become government control? The only governments controlling us currently are the ones in the middle east and OPEC who control world oil prices
