The whole exercise was pointless anyway there was nothing stopping immigration being more tightly controlled its standard Conservative policy to depress wages as low as possible you do that by NOT regulating and having an endless supply side Labour Pool. If you run a supply side Trickle down economic model as the Cons do then the obvious place to get Labour from if your not in the EU is the Indian sub Continent.

@kevinb9830 free movement wasn't the cause of the wage depression it's government policy. There doing it now with the points system for anyone around the world to come here undermine professional and middle class salaries

@kevinb9830 it's still government policy under Labour average wages went up by 25% minimum wage when it was introduced jumped it 15% in one go under the Conservatives fire rehire was tolerated as was the expansion of zero hour deregulated gig economy which replaced better paying jobs through offshore companies who paid zero tax and a huge very low paid migrant labour influx. Don't blame migrants they just go where the jobs are we've always had the power to regulate the labour market blame government
