So I listened to this and I've seen this popping up all day and decided to have a think 1st off I don't need child benefit at all pretty much the only thing I have in common with Rees Mogg been lucky in life and my career now retired So what would I do with 1.5 billion rather than use a high portion on people that have > 2 kids but don't need the money or have > 2 kids and are on the poverty line. There's also the politics of it I live in Tory town some of the well off people can be pretty callus and mean quick to jump on stereotypes with not a thought on how fortunate in life they are. Wouldn't it be better to focus on child poverty with a number of measures that not only looking at homes with > than 3 children but also needed help in other ways such as expanding free school meals and trying to just enable people on the bottom rung a better quality of life? Poverty initiatives would be an easier sell as well Just saying Its alright saying your not going to expand it but it was extremely callus to not have an alternative policy even a really vague one that then takes the discussion onto dealing with child poverty in general.

@indricotherium4802 loads of the Tories round my way are what you call Blue Greens there Centre / Centre right but care about the environment and their children's future while still having a range rover as their 2nd car

@indricotherium4802 if your well paid middle class there's no thought about being eco conscious with your car choice it doesn't stop you being keen on recycling or wanting more trees and natural spaces. There's a lot of well off people who with a nudge would install solar and switch to an EV there not socialist they float round the centre voted Tory on the back of Cameron wouldn't touch Corbyn with a barge poll but pull the Green lever in council elections

He's not proposing selling off the NHS and privatising the BBC + CHAN4 and pensions + scrapping inheritance tax and going full hard Brexit to make the rich even richer. I don't think you have any idea how bad the Tories will really get given another 5 years look at the damage they've done in 13.
