When you dig around various budgets there's 10's of billions in subsidies rebates in tax system for the fossil companies Talking of wind power being cheap and getting cheaper ive been following Dogger bank capital cost is 9 billion energy source is FREE Hinkley C capital cost is 33 bilion 2 years delayed 30 billion in government subsidies planned in over 35 years and price tied to inflation already projected electricity cost x4 times dogger bank They both claim they will power 6 million homes Life is really frustrating at the momment

  2. ​ @KizzyKismet1 most of these far flung fields are uneconomical without 10s of billions in subsidies and tax breaks the golden age is over you'll nott see much in tax if anything from them

  3.  @KizzyKismet1  your economy will implode same way the GB one is doing now because of Brexit if you go independent but way worse. there's not loads of money in oil your better off pitching export and storage of wind energy.

  4. The fields wont get developed without the tax subsidies totaling into the 10s of billions Up until the war oil prices where really low any ramp up of production will see these additional fields marginal cost become uneconomical

He's throwing 10s of billions of your and my money in tax breaks and subsidies at this Electricity generation from wind is mind numbingly cheap compared to other sources and getting cheaper and if the costs are falling now given the energy input to power them is FREE how cheaper will it be in 7-10 years when these fields are due to come on-line We have an energy shortage now and have had since back end of 2020 yet the government has done nothing to expand supply or insulted homes to reduce demand Instead they've stood there and watched the economy burn in a raging skip fire Norway has 2% inflation and 93% renewables so I'd suggest you go dig into the economics of this before taking a side

  7. If you pull the tax breaks and subsidies from them 90+% won't happen the marginal costs are slim. 99% of this by Sunak is posturing people shouldn't be angry about the licences but about the 10s of billions of tax subsidies
