Our economy has been stagnant since 2010, any perceived growth was through migration, Reeves budget doesn't come into force till Apr 2025 What you apper to be complaining about is 14 years of Tory incompetence + brex1t

I voted for a Labour Mayor and Lib-Dem mp Not sure what all the doom and fuss is about! The economy has been stagnant since the Osborne Austerity budget in 2010 then got a thorough kicking with brex1t Any perceived growth with the Tories smoke and mirrors was down to migration in real terms GDP per capita has fallen by -10% The Reeve budget doesn't come into force till Apr 2025 Most of the downturn we see now is down to the 2023 24 budgets and brex1t Port Tolbot being a noted victim and Luton is next

@TomAshdown-u2j Taxes have raised? The NI stuff doesn't come in till April 2025 The overall effect calculated by the OBR will see a rise in tax base FROM 37% to 38% by 2030 (Tax base in 2019 was 33% it rose to 37% by the end of the last parliament) Port Talbot closed this quarter due to brex1t, manufacturing is in terminal decline, we had a new round of regulations due to brex1t which ends the last of small manufacturing exports. The further we move from the EU the worse it gets in terms of regulatory issues

@greyvoice7949 it closed because in 2026 coked steel and coked steel products attract punative tariffs if exported to the EU which is currently it's main market. As a 3rd country even though we are 20 miles away we have the same access as India. Luton is closing because the EV deal runs out in 2026 and 60% of the product would have to be manufactured in the UK. People on the right appear to know less than nothing and make stuff up

@greyvoice7949 we've had a stagnant economy since 2010 the only reason the GDP figure rose is migration. We've been in a technical recession since leaving the single market. The last Parliament was the 1st in history to leave you worse off after 5 years.

@greyvoice7949 I voted Lib-Dem at the last election And We've been in a technical recession since leaving the single market hovering between +0.1 and -0.1 The underlying GDP per capita has been shrinking the shortfall being made up by +2 million migrant workers In 2019 our tax base was 33% it rose to 37% this summer and is expected to reach 38% by 2030 So no things aren't getting dramatically worse all your seeing is the consequences of brex1t which will keep the economy stagnant till it gets reversed, no party can fix it because an economy pulls out of recession on the back of small to medium businesses which have been hamstrung with their export markets near gone and their on demand supply chain completely fked. Also we have the highest energy prices in Europe thanks to the Tories.
