@shryggur there's not the Russia phobia that you'd think all western economies have labour shortages especially in jobs that need skills such as tech doctors engineers Putin seems to be following the Stalin playbook so things will get worse internally he's already blighted a generation even without sanctions the russian losses due to death and injury will have long term economic and social impact plus the alleged 200,000 that have gone for an extended holiday in Russians neighbouring countries

@edgarkrattiger9185 your understanding of modern weaponry is stunningly narrow with a fraction of what is available to NATO Ukraine is becoming a Russian tank graveyard Also you need to take Russians claims of total tank numbers with a pinch of salt they've probably got at best 20% of what they claim fully serviced operational and equipped with modern comms, even then reports are that few that were blown up seem to posses modern thermal imaging or any night vision capability. Seems like a lot of people have been taking money out of the Russian system for upgrades and maintenance there's also no thermal insulation in any of the vehicles as soon as their hit the crew gets cooked

@edgarkrattiger9185 the key factors are it depresses oil and gas prices and makes purchasing the materials of war exceptionally hard and expensive computer chips are in everything maybe Comrade Vlad is going to up output from the sovtek valve factory and go back to the 40/50's the good old bad old days of stalinist purges

@shryggur it's to hurt the wider economy so its incapable of building an army 10 years down the line that will succeed where this operation has failed. Smart munitions costs lots of money they also need smart people to build design and manufacture modern weapons, the snctions and Putins internal measures has seen a brain drain of 200000 mostly young well educated Russians fleeing to neighbouring countries. For all of Europe's sake this has to be Vlads last war

@edgarkrattiger9185 imagine an armoury and army without smart weapons drones air defence systems ground defence systems modern helicopters and planes encrypted up to the minute battalion comms networks no thermal imaging no night sights no eyes in the sky. Just some dumb Russian grunt with a 1970's lorry pulling a howitzer that doubles for target practice if he ever leaves russian Borders.
