@SquidFox9 The bulk of the Trump economy was the tail of the Obama legacy the big change the tax cuts gave the economy what we term as a sugar high, a short term boost before your insulin levels crash and you get a sugar low. The fortune 500 companies spent 3.5 trillion in that short period till Cov doing share buy backs artificially boosting the stock price, handing out dividends and boosting CEO pay. All the time the economic multiplier of 0.20 was adding 80 cents in the dollar to the debt.
1
@SquidFox9 The results where -3.6% GDP and +2 million unemployed over 4 Years the worst economic performance by a President since Hoover? also -200,000 manufacturing jobs. A tax cut agenda which expands the debt in unfunded tax cuts is a boom / bust agenda. The rapid expansion of the money supply onto debt without expanding GDP added between +2-3% inflation to the post Cov recovery. It's a 1 trick pony and does nothing for long term economic growth which is why his 4 year numbers were so bad.
1
It has to be so to break through the noise and create a conversation about social infrastructure. The right wing media echo chamber will denigrate and lambast any Biden initiative thier entire role in life is to make Republican supporters as angry as possible and to try make Biden fail even if it hurts them. This also sets the tone and while it may have no impact in Washington it creates space to talk to state and local leaders
1
Republican registration is down to 25% of which only 3/4 are Trumpers. Indipendant voters make up the biggest block at 40% And Democrats gained to 32% Trump has never been popular his final day's has sealed his fate
1
Stopped what?
1
How salty can Krystal get?
1
The FBI were swamped with information, they didn't sort the wheat from the chaff and focus and build data on likely and known groups. A good few of the organised groups are going to be prosecuted for Sedition how does a new nebulous terrorist designation help? It's not like people don't know who the hardcore are
1
how can the democrats pack the courts? there not in power which senator ass-hole Cruz said they'd keep a supreme court seat open for 4 years if Hillary got in? get out of here whiny hypocrites the lot of them
1
Companies don't pay tax if they don't make any money and also get jenerous forward tax write off provisions when will zombie trickle down finally die how many reports on the subject that basically say 'it doesn't work you muppet' does there have to be.
1
So a laptop happens to come into Rudys hands that's from a Trump supporter with impaired vision from a state/place Hunter doesn't live and the masterminds of this big reveal are Rudy (a known drunk and wack job who's been cavorting with Russian and Ukrainian Oligarchs as well as Borat) Steve Bannon (under indictment for fraud stealing from gullible Trump supporters) and chief Trump bootlicker Hannity. The story of where the data came from is bogus and how much of the data is even real? a clip I saw had texts with a Russian carriers mark where you'd expect t-mobile or something How it was found was a lie how much of the rest of it is?
1
@moonraccoon1388 The push by the GOP to repeal the ACA is down to getting rid of the underlying tax that funds it. They don't give a toss about healthcare. Same with social security its all about reducing employers tax
1
@moonraccoon1388 you don't get it do you for Trump its all about reducing the payroll tax for his businesses. The GOP are all about big business and screwing as many tax breaks from the system as they can
1
@moonraccoon1388 He can't think beyond his own self interest, he is completely incapable of dealing with branches of government and treats executive orders as whims of the king. There is no deal he can make with Congress because he completely refuses to negotiate. Just look at the bunch of incompetents grifters and toadies he has around him, Kudlow as an economics adviser (2 bit Fox TV pundit divorced from reality) or Betsy Design Vos who's trying to dismantle public education and make it all private the list is endless.
1
Inflation is a product of supply and demand, during the pandemic you couldn't give oil away if you average it over three years and don't just compare it to a pandemic year it's running at an average of > 3% There are also global supply chain issues, living in capitalist system the government can't just appropriate resources to cure it overnight. Senator Kennedy knows that he's highly educated and has a degree from Oxford he just plays dumb for the plebs to rile them up make sure they don't get a living wage and have to work 3 jobs just to get by.
1
"I've been paying my own way" pass the sick bag if he said that today everyone would just vomit
1
New York have control of the pandemic, it's about mitigation strategies to reduce the death toll till a vaccine arrives. Masks social distancing and an aggressive testing regime. Solve the health crisis and the economy will recover trying to plow through with huge levels of sickness just depresses it further and further, Germany have quarter full sports stadiums it just takes a plan and effort.
1
@art-gx7qp why would people want to go back for 2/3 dollars an hour plus tips on a casual contract? There was a minimum wage proposal but it was tanked by the GOP
1
@art-gx7qp people don't not work because of unemployment benifits they have more self respect than that. How about a living minimum wage so the argument is moot?
1
@art-gx7qp one that pulls you out of all federal programs including UB Why should govt keep subsidising poorly run businesses.
1
If you want to deal with the migrant caravans they need dealing at source with the originating country with a political solution approved on a bipartisan basis. There's no one size fits all solution and that encompass stopping companies hiring on the fly and a proper pathway to citizenship
1
The USA is in a much better position? Britain is in a half in half out state and cases have surged to 4,000 so things are being pulled back to make sure they don't explode and deaths were 25 TWENTY FRIKIN FIVE not greater than 1000 per day day in day out
1
Trump runs on issues? news to me
1
The company I work for has already said the long term is a mixed model with remote and a reduction in office space to hot desks only. Your only going to be in the office maybe 1 day a week at most if you want to and for some it will be as little as 1 day a month
1
200k dead of covid no plan from Trump except herd immunity and packing the court to strike down the ACA and invalidate pre existing conditions provisions. His one policy is to kill off payroll tax Ergo social security Do his supporters actually know what he's done and is doing and the ramifications of his policies which will lead to a total economic collapse and a depression that will last decades?
1
The Colorado joke is dumb as an example they have drive through voting as well as unrestricted mail in and hundreds of drop boxes, they rank second in voter accessibility. As for which of those twenty somethings is the most racist the GOP bar is so low its hard to tell
1
Are they deliberately doing a Biden add for responsible Govt and listening to the scientists?
1
The most startling example of the Democrats mindset as opposed to the Republican was in the use of the defence production act Trump used it to force meat packing plants open that were riddled with Covid giving the companies a waver against prosecution so the didn't have to shut down when covid cases got out of hand Biden used it to force a drug company rival to pitch in resource to double production. The ppe fiasco with Kushner was about to be repeated with the vaccine with winners and loosers holding the doses as hostage against blue states
1
There's waste in everything unfortunately but putting infrastructure say out to the private sector and having private self interests (lobbying etc.)mushrooms the cost. There's also the lack of enforcement just look at the subsidies given to the broadband sector who promised on their grandmothers life they'd improve rural broadband but hey ho
1
@DEEPSTATE000 engage in petty or small scale swindling Which is why he's being sued by multiple cities for not paying his bills for the last four years of rallies, if I were a venue I'd want my money up front. The guy is a Con man his last grift was to put a recurring donation box buried in small print to sting his supporters without them realising, they had to refund over 100 million dollars, in any other country he'd be banged up for fraud.
1
Super sketchy creepy and Immoral! The next GOP Presidential nominee then
1
Who cares about a teleprompter gee wiz he can read, oh I forgot Trump struggles to read
1
Cohen in his new book says Trump micro manages everything which explains why the messaging is all over the place, bankrupts businesses bankrupts his own campaign
1
He moved the deadline to September to enable an orderly withdrawal in conjunction with allies, NATO is fully on board with the timetable its going to be next to impossible to stop as the US would have to triple its commitment to shore up he NATO shortfall if they reversed course. Its a done deal
1
@RobertoPerez-rq4ck it's a done deal nato have started pulling out as well.
1
@freedommatters3176 you need to foxsplain that it's gibberish
1
@freedommatters3176 Anti free speech? they let you spout foxsplaining conspiracy shit. Wars are extremely complex once you start one, Bush screwed up the middle east good and proper, Afghanistan is a mare to extricate from compounded by ISIS I don't envy anyone trying to sort it out but you need something akin to a plan
1
Of course he is Rudy Guiliani minister of propaganda just pulled another hard drive of incriminating evidence out of his pants, there there it will soon all be over
1
There are multiple possible side effects from covid. Aside from it getting into your lungs there are numerous reports of it causing mental issues heart swelling kidney problems. Typhoid Mary Don needs a full indipendant medical before he's allowed out the WH
1
@michaelmaye9360 Yea course they don't - Gutted the voters rights act Citizens United And you have to read the latest piece of partisan crap coming from Thomas on religious rights. There not even remotely impartial how did they get 4 votes for canning DACA its non of their F%$£" business its up to congress and the senate to pass the law
1
@michaelmaye9360 Then why didn't Trump use an executive order to reverse it? Its got fk all to do with the courts
1
This is dumb if she wants to engage about infrastructure then talk to the Biden administration instead she's and the rest of the GOP are generating a Streisand effect, people are looking at the proposals and thinking well I'm for that oh and that and yes that's a good idea. The dumbest of arguments here is against improved broadband because it helps rural GOP voters and the expansion of EV charging helps rural areas and social infrastructure for elderly care helps the mass of dumb boomers that vote GOP.
1
The large number of politicians you have is to ensure you have a functioning democracy, while its imperfect it's better than the current GOP vision which appears to be for 1 party rule in that there pushing a theory that need better quality of voters not everyone voting. Bit like the Chinese communist party system where the elites are party members who choose thier leader.
1
@phj1757 Without order there is Chaos, taxation and a small amount of indifference and incompetence in public servants is a small price to pay.
1
@phj1757 democracy isn't under assault from socialism or people who are Liberal. Communism only exists in text books the assault on democracy is from the right supported by the fossil fuel industry and far right billionaires such as Murdoch who pump out propaganda at a horrific rate. Theres a reason why DT was known as Benito Trumpollini
1
Do they not have a clue on how the America First name is historically tied to anti-Semitism?
1
It wouldn't have made any difference, 2 days On Trump is back on go to school crowd together don't wear masks it will go away someday, and even having him say this crap he's indoctrinated 35% of the people that now think it's fake
1
He's been putting stuff in the wrong column for decades and NY will be handing him a big bill + the IRS 80 mill he has to pay back + the 1/2 a billion he owes to god knows who So he's broke then
1
It's a K shaped recovery I work in the tech sector and aside from working remote were brimming with work, we've had ten years of growth/evolution in a year the uptake in distributed and cloud + support is off the scale. The problem here is two economies one that is roaring and one that has collapsed even when the pandemic is over this isn't just going to right itself
1
