I have a smart meter without it I cannot access the ultra low overnight off peak tarrif what's with all the scare stuff?
1
@GT380man fossil lobby got to you?
1
The media want him gone + the right wing want a centre left agenda destroyed Why? They dont want taxes on the rich There hell bent on destroying our move to net zero and energy indipendence Starmer is here for the long haul get used to the noise
1
@RuislipResident-v7p quote When the IEA complained to Ofcom about the broadcaster James O’Brien’s description of the institute as a “hard-right lobby group for vested interests of big business, fossil fuels, tobacco, junk food” on his LBC show, Ofcom rejected its complaint, ruling that he had not distorted the facts. Yet the combined platform of these dark-money groups on the BBC is surely many times bigger than that of any other non-party grouping.
1
@stephenrichards5386 the right wing of politics promised that brex1t would lower migration The experts said it would go up Reality is its quadrupled Experts 4 - Nige & the Cons 0
1
Why would anyone want to own a 40 year old pile of rust that guzzles petrol
1
@rockatansky1305 why is anyone even bothered about it it's just irrelevant in the scheme of things a nothing burger
1
Why would you vote for a party that isn't going to do anything for local services?
1
The law used to sort out the riots was brought in by the Tories
1
@justinformed7367 why do you think that? This is a situation created over time mainly down to the last government not processing people amplified by brexit It will take years to even remotely clear up the mess left by Johnson and his cadre of brexit Ultra's
1
@georgesdelatour yet we've given away any sovereignty we gained plus a load more for 0.00 % increase in trade We still have to adhear to EU standards because they set world standards and we can't export We were never in the Euro but London will loose 3.5 trillion in euro clearing business We need to be in a common European alliance NATO The European Court still has final say on the TCA While in the EU we had power and a veto now we're a rule taker and will have to realign standards anyway to enable our economy to grow and SME'S to start expanding exports so the whole excrecise was for nothing. Labour have said they will grow the economy the only way to do that is to remove the trade barriers the Conservatives erected with their garbage deal
1
GBN is owned by an offshore billionaire They are bricking it that the Right vote is split so badly it will leave Labour in power for a decade. They have 2 areas that will affect them with a Starmer government the 1st is the closing of tax loopholes for the very wealthy. If you look at the scare stories there putting up about Labour and tax if you look at IHT for example it shuts down being able to avoid the tax using complex offshore enteties. Second they want net zero gone as most have huge financial interests in Fossil whose price they can control via multinational cartels and the industry receives eye watering subsidies. I'm on the centre left of politics but have nearly all the same concerns over a variety of topics including migration, the right to me are all in on show pony stuff no real solutions to deep rooted problems Whatever side of the political debate you are on don't get locked into an echo chamber and always consider the other sides views
1
Not with people like you Andy bo9sting Reform which is an english nationalist party The level of capital spend in London and the home counties compared to the rest of thecuk has punched us down so much that economists liken it to east west Germany at the end of the cold war. If you want this country to succeed then invest outside the South East and reverse Brex1t which is killing my towns economy
1
You got brexit it quadrupled migration tanked the economy and raised taxes by 5 basis points You were sold a crock of l1es
1
The Tories got rid of STV and introduced voter ID to suppress the vote of poorer people and the young as well as running a campaign full of lies and the the voters rejected and voted for the candidate with the better policies.
1
Blair's legacy was education, generations lifted to higher paying jobs
1
@muckle8 I'm retired graduated in 1980 The sorry state of the economy is down to Thatcherism. Any sort of post banking recovery was strangled at birth by Osborne's Austerity
1
Hopefully hes reversing brexit so our economy can grow again
1
@anglewoden The illegal migration quadrupled when we left the EU, as a 3rd country we have no leverage with France so now the EU don't give a toss. Funny how working in tandem on common problems is mutually beneficial? brexit solves nothing it just makes us poorer or had you not noticed the economy has been stagnant for 3 years and your taxes have been steadily rising?
1
Greens are polling 6% there a bunch of middle class nimby's My brother lives in Norway they run a centre left regulated labour market and economy and have minimal net migration roll on labour
1
What did you vote for? The clueless shambles the Tory party have presented us with? The fictional world described by Nige perhaps? So down to brass since the Referendum in 2016 there is no longer a leave majority in the UK and looking at demographics that happened round about 2018 also Your asking a section of the public as in working people under 60 to implement a fictional pie in the sky policy that working through the demographics is supported by around 30% of them and with a majority thinking your crazy for believing in what they were selling you in the 1st place. Look at what loosing FOM created a quadrupling in migration
1
@katmayful The standing charge pays for bailing out companies that go bankrupt in the Tories quasi artificial market in a public monopoly.
1
What's wrong with you people have you had your brains fried or what? Without a smart meter I cannot access my ultra low overnight tarrif of 7p per kwh instead of the standard 24p per kwh What have you guys been smoking?
1
@GT380man Why would I pay 70% more for my electric. I run the washing machine and charge my domestic battery off the tariff as well. That's how net zero and renewable energy works by time shifting usage and storage.
1
No one is afraid of Nige, the man whose central policy tanked the economy and quadrupled migration and who's economic policy appears to be based on monopoly money And lets be clear I canvas for the Lib-Dems at election time and am quite happy to explain how he has blighted everyone's lives and made them worse. Your living in an online bubble if you think that failure has any chance in the elections
1
no doubt but this story isn't true before committing to comments I always fact check
1
No it won't Let's reflect on why we are here shall we? The Tories have pumped billions into right to buy without building any new council stock Last year councils spent 20 billion on housing support and its around 1/2 thier government grant which has been halved over the last 14 years That money was then used to artificially keep taxes low and pumped into other trickle down policies Basically we're at a point where nearly every council is near bankruptcy due to Tory policy it will take years to sort this mess out
1
Thatcherism for you asset strip all the way
1
There are rules on impartiality and campaign contributions. GBN is run at a loss by a billionaire with the purpose of bypassing the ballot box and political campaigning restrictions.
1
@KateWandless yes they were and this 8s fr9m 2019 you not nowhere in 2025?
1
@rockerjim8045 It now transpires that the amendment the Tories put forward and Reform supported did NOT add a requirement for a new inquiry instead it killed the bill completely. If anything showed more evidence of grandstanding at this scale then you must be blind and deaf
1
We had 14 years of Tory catastrophic government see you in 5 years
1
@concernedcitizen12577 we had a vote for pr it was rejected in 2016
1
It's 62,000 a year and your paying for 60,000+ who should have already been deported but haven't because the government is cr*p
1
Don't parrot junk reporting and opinion stick to facts The right wing media are in a constant cycle of bedwetting at the moment looks like there having a day off attacking Ed This is from carbon brief The UK’s right-leaning newspapers have unleashed a huge wave of editorials attacking energy secretary Ed Miliband since last year’s general election, Carbon Brief analysis reveals. In the first half of 2024, newspapers published 16 editorials – articles that are considered the newspaper’s formal “voice” – attacking Miliband. In the second half of the year, since Labour’s election win, this increased to 45 – roughly two every week. Right-leaning outlets such as the Sun and the Daily Mail repeatedly called Miliband an “eco-zealot”, a “madman” and a “hysterical eco-obsessive”, due to his support for net-zero policies.
1
Just this one is disinformation go fact check it
1
yes but this isn't true go fact check stuff
1
JHB knows nothing about anything, a more opinionated fact free slice of media is hard to find. There are independent media outlets out there but Talk TV and GBN aren't them there owned by billionaires who run them at a loss to push thier own narratives which is currently trying to get net zero abandoned or watered down Quote Former GB News chairman Andrew Neil slams his former channel, saying it will never make money and looks like it was filmed in North Korea
1
Your falling for simple solutions to wide ranging macro economic problems Our economy and politics is being driven by the new oligarchy the billionaire class who think they can buy anything, and basically thats fairly true. Look at GBN a propaganda station owned by an offshore billionaire with a but ton of oil shares which pedls climate denial. Musk who owns his own social media platform and wants to buy the next uk election.
1
Elon is a far right ethnic cleansing sort of guy its in his Apartheid roots Why carry water for a billionaire that used his platform to deliberately push disinformation about Trump's opponent and push wild claims about the sun lit uplands if Trump is reelected. The billionaires who pumped 100's of millions into his campaign want the same thing tax cuts and don't care how much it screws over the population as the next 4 years will show
1
Your deluding yourself about Reform I could debunk every policy they stand for in double quick time. There a more extreme soap box tub thumping clueless version of the Tories.
1
@andrewflindall9048 I'll give you a free economics lesson if you want a low tax low regulation economy the price is high immigration to cover the shortfall in tax and skills through lack of investment in the domestic population. Reform are promising Boris's Cakeism and we know how that ended quadrupled migration numbers.
1
GBN is a platform run by at a loss by a billionaire pumping out propaganda to influence the right of politics and bypass the ballot box There are legal limits on campaign contributions and rules on impartiality its bad enough the right wing bias on the BBC without Billionaires trying to buy our elections through other channels.
1
@met54 It's news and political comment are pro Conservative, its panels frequently have Tice and Farage on them yet fail to air the Lib-Dems, Greens. Members of fringe right wing think tanks pop up regularly to push fringe economic views. I've seen one leading mainstream economist on in a year yet the IEA has had constant representation. So yes it has a right wing bias
1
@met54 quote When the IEA complained to Ofcom about the broadcaster James O’Brien’s description of the institute as a “hard-right lobby group for vested interests of big business, fossil fuels, tobacco, junk food” on his LBC show, Ofcom rejected its complaint, ruling that he had not distorted the facts. Yet the combined platform of these dark-money groups on the BBC is surely many times bigger than that of any other non-party grouping.

I think it's hilarious, you vote to make yourself poorer because migrants then give the keys to the economy to free marketeers who want cheap supply side labour and who couldn't run a bath It is so funny waiting for the comment it would be worse .under ..... 😂🤣😂🤣
1
@Zoro007 Work with a Labour government to put an extra 1,300 neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs on the streets Invest more in youth clubs – creating 250,000 positive opportunities for young Londoners to help steer them away from gangs and crime
1
@AstonColey he's already delivering on school meals and council house building + funding additional community policing in the face of Tory central government cuts. And That's all you'll get with a Tory cuts that make everything worse
