spreading conspiracy theories is

Sunak was involved in the banking crisis his firm were one of the leading culprits if you want to throw stones then here Quote TCI launched a campaign against the Dutch bank ABN Amro in 2007, which resulted in its sale to the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). The deal loaded RBS with crippling debt and led to a £45.5bn government bailout.

@evolassunglasses4673 imigration isn't the problem it's government policy If you allow offshore companies to create 1 million zero hour low paid completly unregulated jobs then import cheap labour to undercut existing businesses ITS NOT THE FAULT OF THE MIGRANT WORKERS. We've always had the ability to create well paid work through government policy and control migration the Tories chose not to
11
Long term economic prospects are awful as will be the immigration numbers
11
@Edward-cv2gw given the fact the Tories have lowered the bar virtually to the floor he only needs to be mildly competent to be the next coming of Jesus
10
@archvaldor What honeymoon period the economy is heading down the toilet and it will be near impossible to turn round with the current economic policies. Remember were coming off the back of a decade of shrinking wages and economic stagnation heading into an even worse decade of shrinking wages and economic stagnation
10
The non tarrif bit only applies if you have proof oof origin at least 60% and that proof comes in the form of thousands of pages of documentation
10
@markredmond2014 Gary was a trader made a fortune betting the Tories couldn't fix the economy
9
@digitalbusker7023 in what way are they Tories? Current lot won't regulate water, don't want to transition to energy independence and won't nationalise the railways or build more social housing
9
Corbyn handed the Tories an 80 seat majority on a plate with his Hubris we needed a government of National unity in 2019 yet he would only support himself being PM and went to the country with a poll rating of -72 +12 The guy was a complete political car crash this post 2019 veneration really is sickening given what he did and what's happened to this country since 2019

Quote Large tax cuts for the rich lead to higher income inequality and don't fuel economic growth or cut unemployment, a new paper by academics from the London School of Economics and King's College London says. Their analysis of 50 years' worth of tax cuts for the wealthy in 18 countries counters arguments that such cuts "trickle down" to the rest of the economy. "Cutting taxes on the rich increases top income shares, but has little effect on economic performance," the researchers concluded. EndQuote All she was doing was piling up public debt
9
If you put a Clown in charge of Government the Clown doesn't become a Leader the Government becomes a Circus
9
@Dynasty1818 Back in 2013 Osborne was told that Austerity was killing the economy 11 years on the Sunak / Hunt plan is tax cuts + 14% reduction on spending aka Austerity on steroids If you look at GDP per Capita we've been in recession for 2 years
9
Breverman has around 15% support in the wider public according to polls in the US there's a 40% bottom on Republican support (red team blue team)
9
Its limping along the Energy Sector is making around 170 billion in EXCESS profits over the next 2 years the Tories are refusing to implement the windfall tax
9
You don't fuel a conspiracy theory, your trying to turn incompetence into some shadowy plot
8
If you want to lower immigration you need to invest in training your domestic workforce, increasing public sector salaries so it's not pulling in cheap foreign labour and invest in infrastructure as well as massively overhauling labour laws and regulation getting rid of zero hour low wage and cutting out outsourcing or having full transparency of workers pay and conditions if you are. Low tax = high migration it's a feature not a bug
8
@-The-Darkside what did they lie about? exaggerated maybe but Corbyn's economic plans would have made the Truss market fallout look like a training exercise
8
@5uper5kill3rz 50% only are owned by families. The cost of a family farm has been going up because rich people are using it as a tax dodge Family farms near me go for 2.5 million which is below the 3 mill threshold (Yorkshire)
8
Our Vaccine rollout is median not leading, the best rollout was Portugal and they used the EU purchasing scheme to pay a fraction of what our government forked out on vaccine doses. They also were part of the EU PPE purchasing scheme which we were invited to which supplied high quality PPE again at a fraction of the cost the Cons and their VIP lane paid

The debt to GDP ratio was 62% in 2010 when the Conservatives claimed the country was bankrupt, Cameron / Osbourne instigated a corporation tax cut that they promised would stimulate growth in 2015 by 2019 the debt to GDP ratio reached 92% and there was zero real GDP growth in that period but the wealth gap exploded. During the pandemic we printed loads more money and guess what has happened oh look over that period Billionaire wealth doubled Under Truss's tax plans inequality will skyrocket as will inflation if you give a corporate Tax cut to everyone the up and coming Green energy startup is ploughing all its resources back into the company not paying tax but the BP Ladbrooks Hedge funds Banks will get a huge windfall funnelling the money to shareholders while further expanding the Debt and exploding the inequality gap. As of December 2021 we were debt leveraged at 102.8%
8
On average were -7% worse off than in 2010 and were supposed to stick with a plan that is making us poorer Rhisi-cetion here we are
8
As part of Sunak's tax shenanigans with freezing thresholds till 2028 then using the money for NI cuts as a pensioner my tax has gone up by +£560 and then offering me £95 back is a insult Why didn't he use the 20 Billion to raise thresholds for everyone instead of giving a narrow band of those in employment getting +32k and less than 55k a tax break?
8
4 out of every 10 people retiring at 66 will do so into poverty
8
The 1st thing they did with it was give it away, all trade deals trade sovereignty for access
8
@bugwandis "collective punishment " is a legal term under the Geneva convention its no wonder it got superseded it needs deliberating via a court.
8
given he hasn't enacted any policies yet your comment is pretty unhelpful He's offering a centre left, centre vision + showing the centre right there will be stable government as the Tories try to out UKIP the Reform party. If you want more left wing policies move the Overton window to the left don't start blaming Kier for moving enough to get the Tories out of power.
8
I'm a retired boomer bought my house cost 3.5 times my salary Interest rates were at 8% at the time though. I also got free higher education, tax free savings and low tax paid for by Maggy with oil money and asset stripping. Granted I had a decent job but there is little excuse from my generation about paying more tax and given how ISA'S are tax free i don't pay much of that either
8
SNP put in a motion to try stir up trouble in the Labour Party The CON's put in an amendment to Block Labour submitting one, they do it all the time so no meaningful amendment goes forward and the whole debate becomes pointless on an opposition day motion. Well done speaker is what I say less of this political shenanigans
8
reshoring energy production with renewables which will create domestic growth unlike the Fossil fuels which zip off to an offshore account and the world commodity markets
8
You not been watching the Tories turning the economy into a Skip Fire for the last 13 years?
7
I thought Cameron would be OK and that the Tories had drifted to the centre that illusion last about 5 seconds when Osborne put up VAT
7
JC wasn't really Labour or a team player worst leader you had and managed to unilaterally turn off older voters
7
@markwelch3564 for CGT tax purposes she didn't need to live there just claim it's her primary residence. As she was on PAYE there is no requirement to make a non tax declaration so there is no paper trail. You can also offset home improvements against CGT this allows landlords to maintain property without having to pay tax on it. The property was however never rented out. So a lot of Tory noise about nothing
7
If you have a renewable grid it has mass storage nodes on it, these nodes would save their infrastructure cost in just over a year. and Wind, Solar energy input is free and not subject to inflation unlike Fossil which has extraction, processing and transport costs so will always keep rising in cost. The estimated cost saving to consumers to move from peak Generator plants to mass storage is -20% and this is based on installations in other countries currently running.
7
Tom I think you need to do a course in economics Anyone uttering the words "Loading for future generations" looses any credibility to talk on the topic.
7
Jonson was p1ssed by 6pm most days
7
Galloway is a foghorn that will say anything that he finds convenient
7
@viewer.123 The information I have is the tax threshold for a couple is 3 million which puts the majority of farmers outside the tax and 50% of farm land is not owned by the farmers that farm them which has skyrocketed land prices
7
how many people would even know it was the EU anthem but the politically engaged class
7
“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. .” The next time you are about to lie, or participate in a lie, consider whether you are willing to pay the debt from the lie in the future.
7
You weren't going to vote for him anyway It's a political calculation that the last thing he and Labour needed was an Abbot Gaffe half way through the campaign especially as she is in her 70's
7
His family were pretty tight on money growing up his mother had a severe illness she worked in the NHS and he got a scholarship to a private school then on to Leeds Uni He was also the 1st person in his family to go to UNi, same with me it was a big deal back then my dad was a builder the % was around 14
7
He supports Trussanomics We know where that leads
7
Putin's corruption machine is hard at work among all the far right leaders in Europe filling their heads with populist garbage using them to divide people. Cambridge Analytica was used by vote leave and enlisted their mate Vlads help. There's also talk of Ledvedev being used to pressure Johnson onto the vote leave side. From a Senate Hearing Political consulting group Cambridge Analytica used Russian researchers and shared data with companies linked to Russian intelligence, a whistleblower told a congressional hearing on interference in the 2016 US election Wednesday (16 May). Christopher Wylie, who leaked information on the British-based firm’s hijacking of data on millions of Facebook users, told a Senate panel he believes Russian intelligence services had access to data harvested by the consultancy.
7
The estimated -6% would have generated 50 billion enough to maintain tax thresholds in line with inflation and put 20 billion into sorting out RAAC
7
@ChrisSavenSH Mine rest in my wallet I couldn't give a stuff if they let all the refugees in at this stage round were I live there's chronic shortages of staff at every level. We could do a recruiting drive in Calais see how many doctors and Nurses from Afghanistan are there and fast track them
7
I think it's funny the Cons are getting everything they deserve
7
@keithparker1346 I think lib dems as the official opposition would be great
7
@lestrem11 Go read up and stop believing Tory propaganda, the EU are methodical and it ended like the Tortoise and the Hare with the bulk of EU countries ahead of us after we made a fast start. We were also part of the EU medicines agency so having the vaccine early was nothing to do with leaving the EU. Our initial policy and burst of speed was down to gambling that 2 doses could be given further apart than the 2 weeks recommended which is why everyone else caught up and we ended middle of the pack For that middle of the pack position the current government have wasted tens of billions and have a wretched record on death per 100k with a fairly staggering overall total at 156,000 August 2021 Guardian and New European - 6 countries have overtaken the UK rollout so far Financial Times - EU wins vaccine marathon after UK sprint September 2021 Sky News - multiple EU countries overtake UK rollout
