You weren't going to vote for him anyway It's a political calculation that the last thing he and Labour needed was an Abbot Gaffe half way through the campaign especially as she is in her 70's

@tmc1054 My 1st job out of Uni was working in a factory in an ex mining town, given what Thatcher did to those people I've voted tactically against the Tories ever since and always will.

He's just cynical and ruthless, decided to cut his losses so there is no chance of an Abbot Gaffe mid campaign, +3 points in the polls today, aside from the Westminster bubble this will have zero affect on the polls. At 70 she could have gone of her own accord and would have been bumped to the HOL, probably still will be if she doesn't stand as an independent

@ianbarnes9947 reason for the gaffe that got her into trouble in the 1st place is she looks to be having memory problems

No they won't Abbot was a liability to the majority of voters in the centre, the last thing Labour needed was an Abbot Gaffe mid campaign. She was a PR disaster as a shadow cabinet member

@susannahhunt100 what do they want now Labour have already called for a ceasefire and a 2 state solution? and it looks like Diane is going a bit loco

@oneoflokis It's a non competitive seat and will vote Labour no matter what, given her gaffe ridden career its no surprise that Mr Ruthless cut his losses so he didn't get an Abbot special mid campaign.
