The Oil and Gas companies are struggling in the north sea? So why are we issuing more leases and starting the process again? BP paid no tax for 5 years in fact it got rebates. You and I through the Treasury are providing rebates to oil companies to clean up the mess left by oil companies decommissioning wells rigs and pipelines the total cost of which could rise to 75 billion pounds. What happened to poulter pays?

@catsploitation Left wing populism has about the same following as right wing populism about 20% Its also just as destructive and anti democratic as it has no wish to compromise in any shape or form.

Sorry your not dealing with a sane rational government your dealing with a psychotic kleptocratic bully, this isn't Russia v Ukraine its Putin and the Kremlin v Ukraine as he attempts to turn the clock back 30 years. Your dealing with a man who has blown up 300 of his own people to justify a war in Chechnya poisoned his political enemies with nerve agent his regime exists on lies and violence. NO ONE especially the Ukrainians trust a single word coming out of Putin if he takes over there will be revenge killings FSB hit lists are apparently already out there. Historically Stalin starved 3.5 million ethnic Ukrainians to death look up Holodomor and Ukraine, Putin is just as cruel and evil

Yes this was a political choice by the Cons no Corbyn wasn't the answer he handed power to the Cons on a plate He may have fired up the left of the party but the nation as a whole rejected him wholesale you've only to look at who he appointed as Shadow chancellor to see that it would never fly. In hindsight what's worse is we could have had Andy Burnham. As for Starmer he's generally keeping his policies close to his chest I presume so as not to have the right wing media have a couple of years tearing it to shreds on a daily basis.

@angelathurston8663 First off Corbyn was his own worst enemy secondly when Assange started getting into bed with the GRU deliberately leaking info to further the aims of Putin who was trying to destabilise the US and its elections it was never going to end well. 75% of the print media are owned by billionaire interests who will run a hit job on anyone that doesn't bitch for them

He talked utter bullocks before the election and when he was running to lead the Cons, the parliamentary party must know what a dipshit he is but still they made him thier leader? Amazing

@MrsZambezi what's Boris being a usless bag of wind got to do with labour? Anyway the cons only got 40% of the vote its not what I would call a mandate of any sort.

Starmer won't ask and Murdoch won't forgive Starmer for trying to prosecute over the phone hacking scandal and Brooks The only Blaire like thing he'll do is not try and alienate centre / centre right voters who are turning on the Tories and who may well desert on the centre right to the Lib Dems and Labour and the Hard right to Reform

@angelathurston8663 it's a fine line but the GRU fed Assange data to drop during the 2016 election in an extremly coordinated way. They also had contacts in the Trump campaign through Maniford who dropped a Hugh cache of voter data that had been gleaned through Cambridge Analytica interfering in US elections is like using a hornets nest as a football as for our role the deportation treaty sucks A better example of public service journalism is the Pandora papers and the collaborative work done by Bellingcat

Does anyone in the Centre / Center Left and Centre Right Care to them Corbyn was completely and utterly Toxic, to them Kier is oh well or yea OK the Tories will never be able to brand him as the Unions puppet or Red Kier optics matter Quote from the Guardian believe what you want to believe but Socialist nationalise everything under Corbyn was a fantasy trip. He denied that the 10 promises he made during the 2020 race to succeed Jeremy Corbyn had been abandoned and insisted they remained “important statements of value and principle”. However, Starmer refused to confirm that he stood by several of them, including public ownership of utilities and rail services and the abolition of university tuition fees. He has been repeatedly criticised by some on the left of the party who accuse him of shifting away from the platform he stood on three years ago.
