This is more significant than it looks on the surface, there is no reason to change your registration with no elections on the horizon unless your ideologically driven, these switches are likely to be from long term activist members. What it means at grass roots level is the nominations are going to be more extreme and more from the crazy wing of the party which will again drive more people away.
