Hinckley C is now a decade in being built total cost so far are 33 billion But wait thats not the end of the story its going to be 3 years late oh and did i forget to mention the 35 BILLION in subsidies from the UK government over 35 years with a guaranteed price per kilowatt hour @ × 4 the cost of renewables We have an offshore wind farm coming onstream this year producing roughly the same amounts of electricity called Dogger bank its taken 4 years to build and costs 9 billion +350 million on a Tesla MegaPack In what twisted screwed up universe is Nuclear even viable for your extra 60 billion what exactly are you getting at those sort of additional costs you get 180 medium MegaPack instalations

  2. The UK are planning on 35 years for a Nuclear station lifetime and 25 years for an offshore wind farm were looking at £120 v £41 MWh so wind is just on x3 times cheaper to the grid

Nuclear is eye wateringly expensive in the UK it is going to cost 70 billion including subsidies over 35 years for Hinkley C to provide around 6% domestic demand at a guaranteed price of x4 the price of Onshore wind. A similar sized offshore wind farm is coming onstream this year costing 9 billion and the electricity price is x3.5 cheaper than Hinckley's will be with the spare 60 billion you could buy that 6% of homes a Tesla which would run their home for 3 days on a full charge or a complete solar install + battery backup @colinmacdonald5732
