If you want the Capitalist ladder to work you need a robust Social floor What we've seen over the last 14 years is a degrading of that social floor to the point people cannot get on the ladder hence total economic stagnation If you want a booming economy invest in the domestic workforce, that includes disability benefits to housing to sick pay to Healthcare etc

I listened to a really interesting discussion on this the other week The guest on the podcast can't remember which one said for the Capitalist Ladder to work you need a robust social floor, we have eroded that floor so much that people can no longer get on that ladder and it is a big contributor to our current economic stagnation.
