@marumaru6084 that's total BS we had the biggest jump in GDP per Capita since records began under Blair, average wages rose by over 20% and debt averaged 40% of GDP. the Tories haven't balanced the budget in 14 years just kept increasing borrowing in 2010 it was 62% of gdp 2019 it was 92% you have to say wtf they done with 1.6 trillion?

@marumaru6084 what reckless spending? The average of Blair was 40% was below the debt left by Major of 45% debt to GDP it rose under Brown to 62%. Since 2010 its completely gone through the roof, why Osborne's Austerity.

@marumaru6084 you really need to read some books on how economics and Government Finance works. The UK economy back in 2010 at Browns defeat was showing signs of recovery Osborne strangled it at birth. The OBR forecast Austerity was based on showed an economic Multiplier of 0.5 it was later shown by leading economists in 2013 to be 1.6. On top of that Cameron was juicing the economy and lowering wages by not regulating the GIG economy which lead to millions of foreign workers on low paid zero hours contracts undercutting UK business then off shoring the profits. Hunt and Sunak are doing the same thing now covering shrinking GDP per Capita with +1.25 million visas

@lumasters8197 one is proposing to invest in renewable energy the other is going to revive fracking and promising +100 billion in unfunded tax cuts how's that work?

@marumaru6084 Its only as good as the economists you put in it. If you pull them from right leaning sources you'll get affirmative forecasts to your way of thinking we call it groupthink. If you want a broader world view head over to the Resolution Foundation and the Institute for Fiscal Studies also the Joseph Rowntree Foundation do loads of analysis on poverty. Also look up Gary at GarysEconomics he'll explain why were getting poorer and its not likely to stop. AND look up Economic Multipliers everything a government does on Tax and spend generates one.

@marumaru6084 it's only as good as the economists you put in it, if you want to learn what's wrong with the economy the Resolution Foundation did a paper on ending Stagnation and Gary from GarysEconomics explains why we're getting poorer.
