@muckraker7942 transportation is a service it has a net economic benefit to the country as a whole. They will generate way more in addional taxation to the areas they pass through and go to and from than they cost. Also government spending injects money into the bottom and middle of the economy by the time the ta x wheels stop it costs the treasury 20p in the Pound
