Take London out of the figures and the economy looks like the one we feel a raging skip fire with everything crumbling round it

So unless your in London or the London area then any measure of growth is meaningless Why do we care if the banking and service sector grew enough to mask the horror show that's playing out across the country as our infrastructure falls to pieces UK GDP = 3.1 trillion London GDP = 0.4 Trillion its growth forecast is 1.1-1.8% This is masking the regional economies across the UK shrinking and falling to pieces Quote The spending power of workers in some parts of the UK will still be below the level it was before the pandemic by the end of 2024, a think tank has warned. Pay, after accounting for rising prices, is set to fall between 2019 and 2024 in regions like the West Midlands and East of England, said Niesr. @nigelmoth1081 "I just don't think the Labour party supports the working classes anymore" Yea right that would be the class that voted UKIP/BREXIT/Boris Labour's core support is and will come further from the middle class educated suburban vote. As in the States where the Right wing Republicans have embraced unashamed populism while fleecing their supporters with tax cuts for corporations and the rich so the Tory star and Reform are now burning the firebrand populist rhetoric and are and would do the same thing. In the States that translates to 70% of counties that voted for Biden in the last election consisting of 70% of US GDP. While the Tories will promise lower taxes that will translate to direct taxation in the headline rates which will be paid for by freezing thresholds and refusing to tax wealth putting further tax burden on the working class.
