If back in Feb they had dropped the moratorium on OnShore wind and engaged in a campaign to insulate more homes and businesses we would be getting new turbines coming on line and have more homes using less energy. No VAT on replacement double glazing insulation products new efficient boilers solar thermal on the one side and overhaul domestic public transport to reduce demand for car journeys would be a better use of tax breaks

On top of general food inflation we have the extra Brexit related inflation and the energy inflation is bad government policy we didn't import any Russian gas but our electricity spot price is tied to fossil prices even if your getting generation from renewables. Nothing will change till the energy issue is addressed and government policy does something about farming as domestic production is decreasing.
