The rate is a million in gains per annum and that would exclude your personal pension plan If you invest say in Amazon over 10 years you'd need to make +10 million and even then it would only be the sum > 10 million that would attract tax, your overall stock holding would have to be very substantial and I'm presuming you can offset losses. So errrr bit of a nothingburger only affects the really rich in fact it even encourages you if your on the the edge of this to move savings into pensions

John what argument there is non the tax increase affects mostly CEO's paying themselves with share options to avoid income tax. Anyway you only pay it when you cash in plus it can be annualised plus its on sums > than 1million

John It doesn't, investment capital isn't done through individual high rollers playing with their monopoly money. Its done through Merchant banking and or Investment and Venture Capital firms etc.
