@kohlweydesign Its not been passed by the Senate yet and won't be it's waving a flag to the legacy automakers. If you were going to put a proposal in that would actually pass you'd do it based on quantity of the vehicle manufactured in the US (including all components with say a sliding scale 40% - 60% Currently Tesla is undercutting legacy makers by 30-40% in terms of production costs and can sell everything it makes with a 30% mark up. The other issue is can the Admin afford for GM and Ford to go bankrupt? As I said politics By the way you have one party discussing this with the GOP AWOL and just saying No while claiming climate change is a Chinese hoax and the future is coal while leasing vast tracks of state land to the oil industry.

There not going too its more lucrative to focus on the Energy division and keep the margins they have on EV's I can see the Semi coming out soon and Cyber Truck but again that's big ticket mark up profit

Just look over at Europe to see how quickly your statement will fall by the wayside October EV sales up to 20% of all registered cars ICE vehicles down by 30% month on month EV sales by volume up 60% When you start on the slope it accelerates at a phenomenal pace people I know are hanging on to their old cars with the intention of going EV next year ICE car sales are slowing down and in Europe are just about on the tipping point of falling through the floor
