Your right about gig economy jobs but this goes back to Reagan though Bush and the diminishing unionisation coupled global expansion through to the creation of huge monopolies which control prices. There is no magic wand on this breaking up the likes of comcast etc to get more competitive on broadband forcing amazon to break up so it doesn't swallow the whole online purchasing ecosystem, breaking up Facebook and introducing unions and minimum wage + getting the rich, super rich and mega corps to pay tax
