@Ja Ck why?
16
The LSE published a paper saying the real cost to the treasury will be 0.66 billion This takes into account how money flows round the economy and is taxed.
15
He's not a lifestyle coach he's a doctor
12
The Haunted Pencil has spoken get back on your heads plebs King Boris isn't leaving till they drag him out by his short and curlies
12
Doctah Wahwee And what are they trying to push or are you just hypothesising based on what the right wing media tell you to think?
11
Cmon he's only worth 200 million give the guy a break (leg, arm maybe)
11
I mean he was always this bad the fact that the Con party has had a sudden epiphany is a bit rich they knew he's a lying lazy incompetent entitled twat when they elected him
10
@elkiepops the ever evolving covid contract scandal will get picked up one day hundreds of legitimate firms unable to get through to the government while the chumocracy got a VIP lane with billions in contracts to mates
10
Are you living in an alternate Universe, all the woman did was Gaslight lie and stomp off pretty much a clone of her boss's behaviour
9
What credit does Boris have? and whats wrong with Starmer?
9
There's a spot fine but he'll get away with this Those who are caught without a seatbelt will be given the opportunity to take an online course, instead of taking the penalty points. The seatbelt awareness course will cost £53 and will be similar to courses for speeding offences. This comes as the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) stated that the existing fine is no longer a suitable deterrent.

@dee-ix3iq The current refugees are here legally they don't become illegal till their asylum claim is rejected If you shut down all legal routes to claim asylum leaving only arriving on British soil as the option what do you think will happen? And why do we not have ID cards to track workers movements all we have is someone whiny politician unable to take responsibility for their own shtshw
8
The amount payed out for agency staff doubled to 80+ million at two to three times the cost of a Nurse why they get better pay and conditions as an agency worker The Economic Multiplier for Austerity was calculated back in 2013 at 1.6 so for every extra pound you give a nurse it generates £1.6 in the wider economy of that 1/3 ends up as tax so Austerity is a political choice
7
Z list cast of nodding dogs 👍
7
What rank incompetence are you joking?
7
@601salsa the money and economy argument is plain dumb anyway Sweden who didn't do lockdown had just as much economic fall off as the countries that did The biggest problem the NHS has is Conservative cuts by Cameron to local authorities who shut nearly all their special care units for the elderly there's no where to discharge the elderly too so the system backs up and up. It's a case of save a pound on council budgets costing thousands down the line
7
@vroom6591 Taking vitamin pills has virtually no affect on your system they flush through most times. If you want extra vitamin D in your system then eat vitamin D rich foods Oh wait a lot of people are poor and can' t afford to do that! And eating healthy isn't a vaccine alternative.
6
@URBeingLiedTo the uk has the lowest per capita spend on healthcare by a considerable margin in Europe, Sweden is typical at 11.5 % gdp ours is below 9 % Death rates from covid map excess mortality rates, you can also work out which age and gender groups it affected most using mortality data
6
Such as AND Why is the chancellor of the exchequer taxing ordinary people to the hilt and not closing tax loopholes that his wife uses and why isn't he taxing the vast amount of unearned income at the same rates as earned. NI is income tax rebranded what's worse is there's a ceiling for the rich after which they pay 3,5%
5
@myla6135 They can shut down tax havens get rid of non dom status tax unearned income at the same level as earned income employ more tax inspectors to go after the rich boys clamp down on avoidance Etc
5
Lucy Rane 90% of ICU beds and deaths from Covid are the unvaxed So no its not a dis aster, looking at those figures its pretty much a success
5
Its a culmination of people not wanting to pay attention to the arrogance incompetence and cronyism of this government. The SERCO contract cost countless extra billions when it could have been run through the NHS and public sector at a fraction of the cost and with far better results. The push at the outset of the pandemic to herd immunity where the testing system was abandoned before having to be reconstituted a few weeks later. The current crisis is a view of how the example at the top rots everything underneath it
5
The LSE published a paper with the true cost to the treasury accounting for how money flows through the economy and is taxed at multiple levels Thier estimate is 0.66 billion
5
It's worse than that the person had already been processed and refused so thy could have just sent them back
5
@rjkmusicmedia what growth? We've had 12 years of a stagnant economy. We have decades of data showing Trickle doowwn not only doesn't work but makes things worse. We have 12 years of data showing Austerity is a complete failure and will cost way way more to fix. Ex nurses real pay is at - 10% of 2010 levels training subsidies were stopped and most Trusts use high numbers of foreign agency staff that are 1.5 times more expensive
5
It was one of those parties with escorts present and boat loads of booze
5
Just don't go there we've moved on from killing people as an act of vengeance
4
If you change a rule or regulation then if you export or import it will create more paperwork not less Take for example the Digital Standards if we weaken then and don't have compliance with the EU it will cause an instant hit of 1.7 billion in costs + high standards are a USP plus its easy to move a software business into the EU thus we loose the trade altogether.
4
The death toll was bad enough with the lockdown the 2nd one was only half arsed anyway, since the Tories ran the NHS there wasn't much else could be done
4
Oh he was only running NO10 like a frat house whats the harm in having puke all over the place everyone was doing it and besides that he works hard (what at is beyond anyone but) he's allowed to let his hair down go around shouting Ogi Ogi Ogi and leading the Conga through the garden. I mean everyone had an ABBA themed Karoke night and wasn't that a TOGA party at NO11
4
@YatzarEL-17 they vote on a manifesto which Sunak has reversed, both him and Truss abandoned Johnson's platform, not that it wasn't lies to start with but he's as illegitimate as they come
4
@chrispbacon4701 I still think its bollox My dad was Polish my great grandfather on my mothers side was Irish my brother is married to a Colombian. Most of the Royal family are of foreign descent Johnson wasn't even British he had dual Nationality with the US Just grow up we live in a society where travel and job relocation can be world wide
3
What like the fact that as a Brexit Ultra she and the other's promised a reduction in refugees when all the signs where withdrawing from the Dublin Accord and becoming Billy No Mates of Europe it would vastly expand the problem. Its almost as if working with your friends and neighbours has real world advantages like 30,000 of them in this case
3
I'm surprised he doesn't explode with all that hot air and BS inside him The master of projection is at it again Paul Manaford confirmed to be liaising with a Kremlin agent the same one he was working with to mess with the Ukrainian elections, John Bolton made it clear in his book that when Putin yanks his chain Donald comes a running and Fiona Hill made it doubly clear the Republicans are pedalling conspiracy theories which are fronted Kremlin disinformation campaigns.
3
don't forget bashing union barons for having the nerve to ask for less of a pay decrease than there being offered
3
@DP-ic2lz She is resident in the UK and liable for UK taxes She didn't make the money its inherited and she receives dividends what there doing is using a tax loophole to claim non dom your argument is the UK is not your main residence. The idea that she is paying Indian taxes is quaint it will be squirreled away in offshore tax vehicles
3
Its not just economic growth its wage growth as well its running at -4% in real terms adjusted for inflation since the start 2010. The Tory answer to a Tory problem is more extreme Tory policies Starmer is lining his ducks in a row to keep hammering this home in the sure knowledge that this recession is set in stone for the foreseeable future. Gove's levelling up pot was empty, Sunak axed Bojo's rail upgrade promises and were back to an upgraded satellite of London again.
3
shes spouting brexit garbage from Minford here's an analysis of his pro Brexit proposals Professor Patrick Minford, one of the ‘Economists for Brexit’, argues that leaving the European Union (EU) will raise the UK’s welfare by 4% as a result of increased trade. His policy recommendation is that following a vote for Brexit, the UK should strike no new trade deals but instead unilaterally abolish all its import tariffs. Under this policy (‘Britain Alone’), he describes his model as predicting the ‘elimination’ of UK manufacturing and a big increase in wage inequality. These outcomes may be hard to sell to UK citizens as a desirable political option. The economy is already 5% smaller than it would have been if we hadn't voted leave and the currency is 30% lower To put that into context prices from 2016 to 2022 on imports are 30% higher than they would have been and there's a net loss of over 40 billion per annum in tax to the Treasury
3
He's heading for his 7th very soon, this was done to send a shot across his bows behave or else McConnel will reconvene the senate ergo the hostage video that he promptly issued with his calm down message. Impeachment is the least of his worries he's going to get hammered with civil lawsuits by the DC police union 2 dead and 20 injured 1 lost an eye the PGA have deserted him PayPal has even suspended payments, if your going to do Sedition best not be a complete moron fail and employ insurrectionists who post videos take selfies and not wear masks
3
Campaigning was declared a work event by the government by April there were very few work restrictions and most had had a first vaccine so you know unless drinking and eating was banned at work which it wasn't then your clutching at straws here.
3
What misconduct it's all deflecion
3
yea the 2 bit Tories dream on
2
@Chris1553 And what's that supposed to mean, I'm a believer in the rule of law that means letting it take its course. Unlike the current government who appear to believe the law isn't for them but an optional extra when it suits them.
2
@Chris1553 I agree why did it take 12 years but that's where we are and I wouldn't doubt that after a comprehensive trial he done it but he has the right of appeal hopefully it will be dismissed
2
@1daxwood are you really going to shill for the billionaire class?
2
Liib Dems and Labour are out of touch with the Billionaire class the. Fossil lobby and Millionaire Bank executives There's hot news for you
2
No she means reduce corporation tax which will go to the 1% in dividends and bung it on debt increasing inflation forcing the Bank of England to raise interest rates
2
I said that when Thatcher came to power, the one and only time I voted Tory was when Ted Heath was leader
