shes spouting brexit garbage from Minford here's an analysis of his pro Brexit proposals Professor Patrick Minford, one of the ‘Economists for Brexit’, argues that leaving the European Union (EU) will raise the UK’s welfare by 4% as a result of increased trade. His policy recommendation is that following a vote for Brexit, the UK should strike no new trade deals but instead unilaterally abolish all its import tariffs. Under this policy (‘Britain Alone’), he describes his model as predicting the ‘elimination’ of UK manufacturing and a big increase in wage inequality. These outcomes may be hard to sell to UK citizens as a desirable political option. The economy is already 5% smaller than it would have been if we hadn't voted leave and the currency is 30% lower To put that into context prices from 2016 to 2022 on imports are 30% higher than they would have been and there's a net loss of over 40 billion per annum in tax to the Treasury

No she means reduce corporation tax which will go to the 1% in dividends and bung it on debt increasing inflation forcing the Bank of England to raise interest rates

Sunak is a Thatcherite far right candidate and Truss is Libertarian not a Conservative bone in her body

@Beornræd The US has a Right wing senate stopping left wing progressive taxation policy. Germany has a Gas problem of its own making France has a Centerist in charge Norway Sweden and Finland have left wing governments Where the only country in History to put trade sanctions on itself without it our food for example would be 6% cheaper (comparison with NI who are in the single market) Which is why our inflation is basically out of control because you can't fix something if you refuse to acknowledge the problem

not really she's spouting Minford's garbage here's an analysis of what is going to happen Professor Patrick Minford, one of the ‘Economists for Brexit’, argues that leaving the European Union (EU) will raise the UK’s welfare by 4% as a result of increased trade. The economy has already lost 5% gdp which = 40 billion in lost taxation through reduced economic activity due to Brexit this would turn everywhere but London and the south east into a wasteland even worse than Thatcher's attack on heavy industry

@RjjFerg The reason US healthcare is so expensive is because its private The UK NHS costs 9% of GDP on healthcare its estimated over 20% of US GDP is spent on healthcare Even well run public/private systems swallow minimum 14% gdp

@Beornræd There just not that organized and you can trace the right wing connections really easily through the Think Tank groups
