@DP-ic2lz She is resident in the UK and liable for UK taxes She didn't make the money its inherited and she receives dividends what there doing is using a tax loophole to claim non dom your argument is the UK is not your main residence. The idea that she is paying Indian taxes is quaint it will be squirreled away in offshore tax vehicles

There's been pressure to change it for the last couple of decades Labour promised they would so Osborne countered with we'll do it but never did. Tax havens are a leech on the public purse our FPTP system means we end up with minority government though so no matter how much you pressure your MP they just vote with the whip

@DP-ic2lz So what of the 13 million in dividends she got that's in an offshore tax haven in BVI using a non dom tax loophole?

@DP-ic2lz My dividends come into my trading account at my brokers if there not in the ISA I have to pay tax there just income, doesn't matter if there Microsoft or PayPal shares I'm a UK tax payer. And I could claim Non Dom because my father was Polish Yes close down all tax havens its 2022 the world cannot afford the current levels of tax evasion by the super rich and large corporations
