So 1st off I'm relaxed about migration my Father was an Immigrant during the 2nd world war but I want to point out what happened starting 2010 With the GIG economy combined with Tory Austerity we had millions of low paid jobs created and being taken up by migrant workers in an unregulated space displacing permanent paid jobs but at a fraction of the cost with zero hour contracts If you look at the Cameron economy it was totally stagnant the low paid jobs didn't really generate enough tax revenue and if your importing workers at a fast clip then it becomes fertile breeding ground for ArseHoles like Farage as services where cut at the same time. There's currently 4.4 million workers in the Gig economy There's a book on Austerity worth reading How Economists Invented Austerity & Paved the Way to Fascism by Clare Mattei The TUC have posted a good paper on the problems of the GIG economy worth following up and reading Knowledge is power
