Our consciousness has evolved to enable us to deal with those parts of "reality" which we need to be able to deal with in order to survive. But there's a lot, lot more going on. Broadly speaking we can call the area of our perceptions "territory" which we must conquer and retain. Is it possible that both the sub-atomic world and the further reaches of the cosmos are not "territory" at all, but something entirely different? We have no choice but to use the organs of perception we have developed to deal with life on the surface of the planet and we have no choice but to interpret the sub atomic world and the world of outer space in terms of "territory", which they are not. Damn. I swore not to drink so much coffee today.

Thank you so much for this very informative video - it's exactly what non-scientists like me need to help us struggle through the man-made climate change nightmare. I'm a bit of a denier because I want it not to be true and because so few of the dire predictions seem to have come true. I can also see all kinds of financial and political reasons for certain people to push the agenda. Anyhow my ignorant little non-scientist's brain has recently come across the work of Drs Michael and Ronan Connolly which has offered me a grain of hope and a sort of explanation of what's going on - if I understand it correctly, which probably I don't. Their site with relatively comprehensible articles is on www.ceres.science.com They have completed a lengthy study of the atmosphere using data from weather balloons and it looks as though the actual atmosphere may be slightly different to the atmospheres we have created in the laboratory for testing purposes. They think it might actually be composed of ideal gasses and be thermodynamically stable. Apparently Einstein suggested this in a theoretical paper published in 1917. If the theory is true we are saved! CO2 is a thermostat not an electric blanket. Their detailed papers have been on display in draft form at https:/oprj.net/ for critical assessment since 2014 and I gather they will be available for peer review quite soon. I also gather you need a pretty good science degree to be able to make any sense of them
