There may be nothing to it of course, but the European cases all appear to come into the same category: mostly having travelled in planes where of course full vaccination is mandatory. It wouldn't in fact be surprising. Viruses evolve very rapidly and those which circumvent obstacles are obviously the ones which survive. Delta evolved to get round lockdowns. It is entirely possible that Omicron has evolved to bypass vaccines.

The Russian army marched in convoy towards Kiev simply to draw the Ukrainians into battle on their own territory. The Ukrainians were actually massing their new super-dooper billion dollar army on the southern border preparatory, it seemed, to attempting to retake Donbass from the Russian-backed separatists who held it, and maybe move on to Crimea also. This would have meant the fighting taking place on Russian territory. As it is the fighting took place on Ukrainian territory and the super-dooper army was considerably reduced - which was the objective of the first stage of the war - NOT taking Kiev. I hope this has been of some help to you.

It was grateful enough to release its hold on the soviet republics and the satellite countries after the soviet collapse. No, it is American imperialism and the American military/industrial complex which is yet again at fault here. It needs Russia to maintain a role as permanent enemy in order to justify its existence. As for Ukraine, as with Chechnya and Georgia, its flirtation with NATO must necessarily be brought to a halt. I would imagine Putin has tried to match American bribes with bribes of his own but has been priced out of the market. Hence the invasion. The war could end tomorrow if Ukraine would only concede to Russia's entirely reasonable demands. Creating Donbass as a buffer state and extracting a promise that Ukraine will not join NATO will surely be enough. Putin cannot want the whole country. This would mean a very expensive and very lengthy civil war which would weaken Russia and allow further American expansion in the Baltic.

Then they wanted recognition of Crimea as Russian (which it is) and for the two Donbass republics to become independent, thus enabling them to maintain commercial relations with Russia. Ukraine has to keep out of NATO of course. The problem now is that Russia has laid claim to two other oblasts in Eastern Ukraine as well as the two which it wanted originally to be independent, and occupies about half of each of them. They have representatives in the Russian parliament and I can't see Putin wanting to give them up, but they might be bargaining chips I suppose.

I would certainly say that most accusations are fabricated, especially those involving children and people in hospitals. The Ukrainian Azov Battalion and other extreme anti-Russian elements in the Ukrainian army already have an appalling record, at least equal to that of the Russians. Under stress, especially if fuelled by alcohol and/or drugs, most troops are capable of unspeakable acts, but cold-blooded bombings of civilian targets of no strategic importance is more rare, other than for propaganda purposes when the other side can be blamed. They are more often accidental, as was the case with the RAF bombing a hospital in Kosovo during that conflict.

The creation of Ukraine as a country in 1991 was a disaster for Crimea and Donbass. Both areas have a strong preference for ridding themselves of government from Kiev. That it should come to war on this scale was totally avoidable and it is Zelensky's conceit and stupidity and utter willingness to allow his country to be used as a pawn by the US deep state which has caused it to happen.
