  1. New variants are unlikely to evade immunity provided by Omicron and are unlikely to be more virulent. Plus of course the measures we have taken have no effect anyway. Scotland's only answer is to rigidly close its borders and seal everyone in their houses. I'm sure some of their politicians quite like this idea .
