He never thought he could take the whole of Ukraine. He just used it as a battlefield to destroy the Ukrainian army.

@loppadus I don't either - apart from 3 mysterious "subscribers". This "bot" thing is grossly exaggerated, I feel. I've been accused of being a Russian bot more times than I can count. (I'm not by the way!)

I don't understand this view that Russia is "in trouble." It has begun to turn Ukraine into rubble after occupying its industrial heartland and most of its coastline. Ukraine is having to rely on smaller and smaller military handouts from the West while, despite all predictions, Russia seems to be replacing men and weaponry with comparative ease. Western generals, like this one, seem to me to make the classic mistake of assuming the enemy is doing what they would have done - and when it doesn't do it it imagines they have failed.

@davidsummer8631 This is a complete nonsense. Putin knows that this is merely a romantic notion, and one which can never become a reality. It is merely put forward by the West as propaganda to distract from their intention to extend the America empire by taking over the vast mineral resources of Donbass.
