  3. Martin Emes The hottest since records began! In 1910. I expect it was very, very cold before then.Temperatures recorded above 50c were obviously the result of faulty equipment. Even today modern thermometers cannot be trusted. They are showing up to 10c less than the figures on the weather channels.

He also goes on to cite the fact that new regulations now lead to cut undergrowth being piled upon previous cut undergrowth, greatly adding to fire hazards. "The aborigines would never done that. They knew what they were doing." Regulations also limit dates upon which precautionary burns can be carried out, often on a seemingly arbitrary basis, as well as restricting the widths of firebreaks to sizes which farmers often think too narrow. All these wonderful ideas are of course accompanied by the threat of substantial fines for non--compliance. Naturally too, lengthy forms have to be filled in.
