STOP PRESS: The Office of National Statistics has just released provisional death figures from all causes for July. There were 38,179 deaths registered That is 1,435 LESS than in July 2019. Deaths where Covid 19 was an UNDERLYING cause amounted to 2.6% of the total. No deaths were recorded where it was a primary cause.
