Another gun guy, The Humble Marksman, used pigs ears and the bullet just left a small hole. If you cut away from the Brandon Herrara video before it ends it certainly LOOKS as though the ear was destroyed - but quite miraculously it reforms.

  24.  @alexiswinter6948  I'm no gun expert, but this Brandon Herrara guy is and he used the same rifle that Crooks used. He actually took the shot closer because it would be near impossible, using that weapon, to intentionally hit an ear at that distance. Apparently you can only guarantee getting your shot within a five inch circle.

  42.  @KuariThunderclaw  On the contrary, teenagers are notorious for rebelling against their parents. We know that Crooks left home when he was 18 after some sort of row. His early beliefs and his parents' beliefs are not relevant. I emphasise that I think his actions were psychologically rather than politically motivated. But that isn't to say they couldn't have been taken advantage of.

  44.  @KuariThunderclaw  I am simply saying that it would be foolish to entirely dismiss the possibility that this attempt on Trump's life was engineered by parties other than the shooter himself. Already the scenario has gone through numerous stages. New information is appearing all the time and a number of conclusions once reached have had to be abandoned. YOUR conclusion - that the Democrat party in any shape or form was NOT involved-might suffer the same fate. I am not saying it will. But it might.

Was he motivated by political beliefs or some personal resentment of the world? Does the availability of powerful weapons enter into it? Does the demonization of Trump (which you seem to have swallowed wholesale) enter into it? Until these questions are answered the question of accountability remains very much open.
