@nudisco7882 World War I when Germany was so reduced by trench warfare that it ran out of credit. Ukraine is heading the same way.

@Cygnus888 But they serve the same functions. In urban warfare an artillery attack followed by infantry incursion is clearly the best way to take territory and destroy the enemy. Many modern armies are trained to employ tactics which reduce their own casualties. Russia doesn't much bother.

@Registered_Simp NATO 's resources are not infinite. The present US government is run by fools who are no match for Putin's pragmatism. In war, the only thing that is certain is that nothing is certain, but instinct tells me that Russia is going to come out on top in the end.
