  1. Covid 19 has been politicised, that's the difference. It's being used as a means of social control, which is unprecedented. It can be argued that the 68/69 epidemic was actually worse. The number of UK deaths was around 30,000 - but many were children and young people, so in terms of years of life lost it was much more severe.
