  2. It's called Prat's Theory. Once a prat gets appointed to a senior job he/she then hires other prats and within a couple of generations the whole industry is staffed by prats. This is what s happened in journalism. The prats in this instance are conceited, whining left-wing knowalls who think they are there to make the world in their image, rather than simply to tell us lesser mortals roughly what's going on.

  6. The IPCC report is a cross between a religious tract and the script for a sci-fi film. We shouldn't be frightened of what he says - but very, very scared indeed of the processes which have led to it being even considered as something upon which future economic development is based.

  7.  @crulove  It's practically tribal. Another feature of Type A is that they really hate Type B whereas we Type Bs tend to regard Type As with little more than mild contempt. I enjoy venturing into the comments sections of channels like Robespierre and A Different Bias just to stir them up. The fear and loathing one finds there is quite alarming. The utter panic this week at the thought of the pandemic easing was very revealing. They were like junkies worried that their supplies might dry up.

In fact, trying to suss out what exactly YT is up to with this abortion of a program is of greater interest than anything I have to say at the moment.   16. US election results seem more and more to be manufactured internally, with the voting figures being a mere cosmetic addition. Presumably the country is actually run by some internal agency, while the politicians are mere figureheads, variously bribed and blackmailed into fulfilling their appointed tasks.
