  1. It's called Prat's Theory. Once a prat gets appointed to a senior job he/she then hires other prats and within a couple of generations the whole industry is staffed by prats. This is what s happened in journalism. The prats in this instance are conceited, whining left-wing knowalls who think they are there to make the world in their image, rather than simply to tell us lesser mortals roughly what's going on.
