It will go directly to appeal if he is convicted. There are already sufficient grounds in the jury selection procedure and some of the judge's comments. This will take years- unless Trump gets back in the White House and puts a stop to it.

@pgabrieli It's a moot point, but the general opinion is that he could pardon himself if re-elected. Equally, it is argued that he could halt any proceedings in which he was still involved. I think you will find these matters are not so cut and dried as you seem to think, dude.
