  2. Why not? Like motorbikes and golf carts by VERY unlike multi-million dollar US tanks and troop carriers, donkeys don't get stuck in the mud. We laughed at the Vietcong using bicycles, and look what happened there!

  6.  @cog600  I don't think the Russian army is up to much. It is riddled with corruption and favouritism and drunkenness., but it generally does what has to be done. The point about donkeys and motor-bikes though is that they are not substitutes for other forms of transport, but superior to them in certain conditions.
