I really would like to know by what method these figures are obtained. They seem to be more or less plucked out of the air. I'm astonished that anyone could actually believe them.

@michaeldunham3385 The advances are far from minor and are verifiable - which the casualty figures are not.

@MikeR-pq8qe In your deluded mind.

@luisekjeldsen1515 I agree that the Russian army has a somewhat old-fashioned attitude to the duties of the fighting man, but that doesn't answer my question!

@Paveway-chan But it doesn't want Ukraine. Never has. Never will. It just wants Donbass - and it's very nearly got it.

@anat6360 Count them yourself, did you?

@chaoscorsair I don't think they ever wanted all of Ukraine, Putin is on record as saying so and the progress of events seems to bear this out. A regime change would be useful, but the main objective is to reclaim those mineral-rich parts of Russia which - according to Putin - were erroneously included in the new country of Ukraine when it was created in 1991.

@martynanstis1620 Initially -but turned into money

@robertscott961 Of course it is. It travels at ten times the speed of sound.

@Deathadder90 I'm no techie but I do gather that Mach10 is pretty swift.

@chaoscorsair They might have been happy to get another Russian-leaning government back in power - but Putin is on record as saying that he doesn't want any part of Ukraine other than those parts of Russia which were stuck onto the SSR of Ukraine by the Soviets - namely, Donbass and Crimea. This isn't for purely sentimental reasons, of course. There's an estimated $13-14 trillion of coal, gas, oil and rare earth minerals there.

@michaeldunham3385 Soldiers die in wars. It's a thing. The objective of the war is purely to recapture the mineral-rich parts of Russia mistakenly appended to the new country of Ukraine when it was formed in 1991. That objective is now within sight.

@ll0l0l0lolo0l Long before then, I would imagine.

@michaeldunham3385 How do you know I've never been to Russia? If Putin is using NK soldiers it is because they are cheap and expendable. It's called промокательная бумага - look it up.
1
@michaeldunham3385 No, he's using them (if he is) because they are cheap and expendable. There is a word for such troops in Russia its промокательная бумага. Look it up.
1
@michaeldunham3385 No, if he's using them it's because they come cheap and are expendable. And they're not Russian.
1
@michaeldunham3385 промокательная бумага

@julianshepherd2038 Or a Ukrainian one.

@bhuddy1832 How would I know? Anyway the rouble is far from worthless you can still feed yourself and your family quite adequately with a few of them. Food is cheaper and more plentiful in Russia than it is wherever you live, I bet.

@Deathadder90 You seem to know about these things, but I gather this jobby goes up very, very high, then comes down so very very fast that it is impossible to intercept it. Is this wrong then?
