XR supporters are either mad, stupid or in it for the money. This one is mad.

Corruption in Ukraine is away of life.

@heatheraldazabal358 More like 70/30 I would have thought.

@heatheraldazabal358 From Wikipedia: Corruption is widespread in Ukrainian society.[1][2] In 2012 Ernst & Young put Ukraine among the three most-corrupt nations of the world—alongside Colombia and Brazil.[3] In 2015 The Guardian called Ukraine "the most corrupt nation in Europe".[4] According to a poll conducted by Ernst & Young in 2017, experts considered Ukraine to be the ninth-most corrupt nation in the world.[5] According to Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index (a scale of least to most corrupt nations), Ukraine ranked 122nd out of 180 countries in 2021, the second most corrupt in Europe, ahead of Russia.[6]

@heatheraldazabal358 Quite right. They both hop up and down these indices along with the likes of Columbia - but always in the top few.

This would be a great chance for Zelensky to leave with honour. His day is done.

No need to apologise for sense, intelligence, pragmatism and moral honesty.

The app is the same but positive tests are running incredibly high - so more "pings". Too many more for businesses to cope with. Ditch the app. It was never much use, and it's now a positive danger.

What free world is that then?

Then trillions get removed from banks, the banking industry goes into crisis and Putin comes out smiling.

How does climate change fit in with the Australian bush fires? Hot is hot. Alight is alight. This is down to human incompetence on the ground and can have no conceivable connection with levels of carbon in the atmosphere.

@1inchPunchBowl Corruption is only one factor, although it is fair to say that Putin might be upset because he has been outbid by other players, including Joe Biden and the EU.
1
@heatheraldazabal358 I daresay. Russia fixes its elections in a more obvious and forthright fashion than Ukraine dies.
1
@heatheraldazabal358 Of course it doesn't! No-one would suggest that. The justification (in Putin's eyes at least) are support for separatists in the Eastern provinces and the danger of NATO using Ukraine as a front-line missile base.

Boris is shooting up in my estimation minute by minute! His refusal to be bullied by media thugs marks him out as a man who will continue to defy them when in office. The media, even the reasonably benign Ferrari, have not yet got it into their fat, conceited heads that they no longer represent "the people" but only themselves.

You may have spoken too soon. Give it a week and the whole picture will be very different indeed.

Far from being thick, Moggy is as clever as a barrel load of monkeys. Like many Tories he realises that loyalty and polite behaviour are useful in masking your real intentions. He knows Johnson has to be propped up until a solid replacement plan is in place, and that's exactly what he's doing.

@knowledge.3563 They aren't in Ukraine.

Roy Wiseman But the vast majority of current cases are leading to symptoms no worse than a bit of a cold, let alone the flu. Most of those who have been pinged will show no symptoms at all. The vaccines have turned out to be real game-changer. The more vaccinated people who get covid the better. Herd immunity is just around the corner if we keep our nerve. The number of hospitalisations is tiny in comparison with the number of cases and so too is the number of deaths - still occurring mainly among the very elderly.
