  1. Nazi behaviour? Both sides have been guilty of obscene acts - and to pretend otherwise is foolish. As to the reasons for the war they are the same reasons which start most wars - a battle over resources; in this case the vast mineral wealth of Eastern Ukraine, added to considerably by the recent discovery of a half-million tonne deposit of lithium near Mariupol. I am astonished that Professor Wilson seems to have lost all objectivity in his assessment of this conflict. One expects this sort of thing from brainwashed adolescents with their talk of "orcs" and "Putler" but not from an academic with access to the facts.

  2.  @gottagowork  They why did they claim Russian descent in the 2009 census? There have never been many Ukrainians in Crimea. It was occupied almost exclusively by Greeks and Turks before the Russians took over.
