  1. This is a somewhat naive and idealistic view of politics. Corruption comes with the territory and cannot be avoided. All we can hope to do is to contain it within reasonable limits, and the British Parliamentary system does this quite as well as any other. You can't prevent politicians from pursuing personal advantage. All you can do is hope to catch them at it.
