  1. Interesting choice of words. The "pale" was originally the fortifications set up outside English enclaves in Ireland. "Beyond the pale" meant you were a Paddy bogtrotter, not a member of the ruling, imperial class. The Tories are very much inside the pale. You are beyond it

  4. Why is the word "corruption" used in this context I often wonder? It seems a perfectly healthy and time-honoured way of conducting business to me. Under a full-on Socialist/Marxist system money would still be disiursed in various ways, but only after lengthy committee discussions and the end results in terms of services and facilities available to the general public would be far inferior.

  5.  toriesrdemons tories kill  I agree we need Socialism to exist - if merely as a threat to prevent Tories from grinding the faces of the poor too ferociously. It may even be allowed to rule for a year or two to hammer the point home. To expect it to actually run a country fairly and efficiently for any length of time is, however, just plain ridiculous.
