You don't seem to get it. Not everything is a matter of principle. That is just the old self-righteous, chapel-going genes showing through. I'll make it simple: Few rich, highly-productive immigrants: good. Millions of poor unskilled immigrants locked into medieval cultures: bad.

@robotrocket1 Rich people get rich by investing their money, not by saving and hoarding.

@robotrocket1 The pie isn't finite - or at least we have nowhere reached its limits. Rich people who increase their wealth through investment increase the wealth of others by providing them with employment and by increasing the amount of goods and services others can enjoy. Capitalism is a very good thing, and disparities in wealth are an essential part of it.

@robotrocket1 That will only be because socialism has outlawed capital investment. Or possibly as a result of mass immigration causing the total breakdown of infrastructure. Or Russian missile and drone attacks on my local waterworks as a result of supporting Ukraine.

@robotrocket1 How is that possible? If that were the case then we would have run out of money decades ago. And we haven't.

@robotrocket1 What do they do with the extra slices then? They could declare them to be works of art I suppose, or buy houses and land. Any capitalist worth his salt will try to make sure that whatever he spends money on will be worth more when he gets rid of it than what it cost him in the first place. They might enjoy a higher level of consumption but there is a limit to how much caviare you can eat, or how many cruises you can take. (Talking of slices, I just watched a video in which a bloke called Mr Beast and his mates ate around half a million dollarsworth of food in a couple of days, including a $70,000 pizza. And he's still going to come out in profit.)

@robotrocket1 So they're just going to sell stuff to each other then? Not much of a market is it? We will still be needed as consumers, you see.

@robotrocket1 The rise in the cost of living is not a result of capitalism, it's the result of poor political management.
