  5.  @emm_arr  You do seem extraordinarily conceited. How can you be so sure that you are "right" ? I think it probable that you are not in this instance. The parochial, village pump politics which Phil adheres to have a very limited relevance in the world of international affairs. The people who rule the world really couldn't give a fuck if Britain has a Tory government or a Labour one. Either way they will retain control.

  7.  @emm_arr  I am forced to disagree. The whole gamut of modern politics is designed to fool us into thinking that Arselicker A will give us a better deal than Arselicker B. We have entirely lost control. Our destinies are entirely governed by financial manipulation which captures politicians as surely as a rat is captured in a trap. Revolution is the only way out. All we can do is hope that the revolution -when it comes - will not be as violent and as bloody as those in the past which have had to deal with similar dilemmas.
