I think both Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia had similar legislation.

That's because they haven't.

Why stop there? Smartphones should only be issued to those who can demonstrate their loyalty to the state.

Have you seen a doctor lately?

@mobsiesixsixsix9785 How are things in the Mobsiesixsisixsix family? Old Polish name, isn't it?

Is it not possible to be both?

Are there still books in libraries these days?
1
@Captain-l-12p It's not a question of whose "side" you're on. It's a question of attitude. I daresay the library which was torched may have hosted groups to which the rioters took exception - not that that is an excuse for what they did, of course.
1
But what if this enquiry does not give you the results you require? What then? (And I really don't think it would.)
1
@charliemoore2551 I rather think the enquiry you propose might be subject to similar constraints. Should it turn out that these riots are a genuine and spontaneous reaction by the oppressed working class (which is what I believe they are) then I doubt this shocking information would be made public.

@iandennis7836 Free speech. That's what I support. These channels have reported fairly and objectively on the current situation. Just because they reflect attitudes which don't match your narrow prejudices that doesn't mean you should ban them. But it is not at all surprising that you should think so. The left is becoming increasingly Stalinistic - and even more fascist than those you accuse if it.

@iandennis7836 I support free speech.
1
@mobsiesixsixsix9785 OK. If you promise not to be paranoid.
1
@iandennis7836 Everyones.
1
@stookful Exactly. And free speech is not incitement. Worked it out yet?
1
@Redstef-m2r I am a free speech extremist. You can say whatever you like as far as I'm concerned.
1
@Redstef-m2r Free speech is free speech. It has no limits, as long as it restricts itself to the voicing of opinions. Direct calls for violent action are another matter.
1
@MrsGardiner In fact direct incitement has to be proved. Simply expressing an opinion about a situation, or reporting the opinions of others, is not an offence.
1
@Redstef-m2r Fair enough. I promise not to call the police on you!
1
I think you make the mistake of attributing a great deal of intelligence to those on the sharp end of these riots. They are just having fun in their own anarchistic way. Seeing sinister foreign forces behind these activities is paranoid. It's a dangerous route to go down.
1
@chris6559 Perhaps it takes someone as stupid as I am to recognise the stupidity of others. (You need to work on your sarcasm, by the way.)

@timothyharris4708 Can't get an appointment.

@timothyharris4708 It's not my fault I'm not a Muslim.

What money is needed to call up a few like-minded people on social media and give them a place, a date and a time?
1
@jananders1351 Who call a few pals, who call a few pals..........

These policies were applied in Germany in the early 1930's with great success.
1
@gaza2322 I was actually being sarcastic, so historical accuracy doesn't really enter into it.
1
@annalieff-saxby568 Absolutely. And it makes me feel better.
