I don't think this present government knows the difference between Tuesday and Thursday, to be quite frank.

The simple fact of the matter is that in this country the right-wing message resonates more strongly with the mass of people than the left-wing one . Britain is a conservative country, inhabited largely by conservative people.

But we do have a strong sense of liberty. This is why the right wing is experiencing a resurgence. Labour crushes independence and freedom of thought.

@ The original poster stated that truth, language and democracy are under assault from the "far right". This is possibly true - but there are firm reasons for this. He is also right to worry about the influence of AI. But I believe increasingly strongly that the "far right" does not represent some fascist autocracy, but a considered reaction to a more subtle autocracy which has taken over out institutions, and which must be excised.

@SailingCloseToTheWind And it works. Britain's brief excursions in socialism have brought some very real benefits, but all in all the downside wins.

@SailingCloseToTheWind Ramsey MacDonald, Clement Atlee and Harold Wilson all did a pretty good job, considering what they were up against. Blair and Brown were total aberrations. As for Starmer and his crew of globalist shills - they send shivers down my spine.

Questioning one's own sanity is often quite good idea. But you could just simply be wrong about things.

@ The truth can never be found. But close enough approximations are available, although NOT in the mainstream media! Not ever. No way.
